Summertime travels in paint.

Summer in the northeast is probably the best place to be when the weather gets steamy across the country. We live in the western New York area and enjoy beautiful weather. This allows us to be outside for several months (a welcome transition from the long, cold winters that leave us indoors most of the time).

This year I had the pleasure of being juried into the Adirondack National Watercolor Exhibition at the View gallery in Old Forge, NY. What a wonderful, beautiful place! My husband and I decided to spend the night there after the opening reception and spend time exploring the next day. So glad we did! Nature as it should be. Not too commercial. Not too prissy and spoiled. Just fresh air, open skies, and many lakes full of fresh water. An endless supply of inspiration.

These are the impressions I got from our visit.
