RESUME AND BIO
BIO
Roberta is a fourth generation native of Buffalo, NY who lives in a suburb north of the city she so dearly loves. While attending Buffalo State College, she began taking art classes as electives and found it to be the path she would take as a career. After moving through the fine arts and design department, she chose Graphic Design as her major course of study. Roberta earned a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design in 1982.
After a successful career of over 20 years in the print and web design industry, Roberta has renewed her passion for the fine arts by painting, mainly in watercolor. Expressive washes, bold use of color, provocative brushstrokes and unusual narrative of ordinary life have become her unique signature. She also enjoys drawing in charcoal and graphite whenever she can while still working as a freelance designer. Her paintings have been juried into local and national exhibitions. She has won several awards, has been published in national magazines and continues to strive for excellence in painting with watercolor.
Roberta is an Exhibiting Member of the Buffalo Society of Artists and volunteer for the publications committee. She is also a Signature Member of the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society where she volunteers for the Website and Exhibitions Committees. An Associate Member of the American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society.
